Frenchmen Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Richard Gasquet have pulled out of the Apia International Sydney.

“Unfortunately Tsonga sustained a left hamstring injury in Perth and has been forced to pull out of Sydney,” tournament director Craig Watson said. “We wish him a speedy recovery and all the best for a successful Australian Open. “We look forward to welcoming him back to Sydney in 2014.”

Gasquet, who advanced to the final in Doha this week on the ATP World Tour, cited personal reasons for his withdrawal.

“We wish him all the best for a successful Australian Open,” Watson said. “We look forward to welcoming him back to Sydney in 2014, as well”

The men’s draw is taking place Saturday at noon as Australian No.1 Marinko Matosevic will attend the draw ceremony.

This is one of the poorer draws I’ve seen for a tournament. Mr Watson, did you actually try and get anyone to play in this?
