Twilight concert series

The twilight concert series is back for 2012. Sarah McLeod, Steve Balbi, Jenny Morris and Dragon will entertain crowds at The Daily Telegraph live site as the excitement of the finals hits the tournament.

MLC Tennis Hot Shots courts

The Apia International Sydney has three purpose built mini MLC Tennis Hot Shots courts where children 10 and under can emulate their tennis heroes with Tennis Australia’s national grassroots program – MLC Tennis Hot Shots. Come and see what all the fuss is about and link up with your local MLC Tennis Hot Shots Deliverer.

Kids day

Apia International Sydney 2012 is throwing open the gates to all children aged 16 years and under, welcoming them free of charge on Kids Day on Monday 9 January 2012. A special attraction Kids Day provides a great opportunity to introduce young players to the wonderful world of tennis. With loads of activities to keep young tennis fans entertained including on-court activities, MLC Tennis Hot Shots, meet and greet the tennis stars, show bags, roving entertainment and much more.

Get into tennis booth

Find out more about tennis. Whether you’re a junior or senior, looking at getting on the professional circuit, playing local competitions and tournaments or returning back to the game after some time away, ‘Get Into Tennis’ has something for you. Come and collect some information on programs, clubs, coaching, competition, officiating and social activities while you’re enjoying the tennis.

Kids interactive zone

Visit the Kids Interactive Zone and try your hand at a variety of interactive tennis activities – test your might on the speed serve, take to the MLC Tennis Hot Shots courts, try and return a serve, perfect your dive volley or grab a mate and take on doubles trouble – we’ve got something for everybody.

The Caltex ‘Driver Safety marquee’

Visit the Caltex Driver Safety marquee, located opposite Door K of Ken Rosewall Arena, to test your skills with the ‘Driver Simulator’ experience.

Ricoh HotSpot for hot shots

Free HotSpot printing for all attendees of the Apia International Sydney 2012 at the Ricoh sponsor booth. Print securely from your smart phone while you’re on the move.

As well as the twilight concert series, the live site will feature daily player interviews and autograph sessions, as well as all the Ken Rosewall Arena tennis action on the big screen.

Corona public bar

Come by the Corona Public Bar for special offers on ice-cold Corona, the chance to win Corona merchandise and the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the ATP players for autograph signings.

Australian tennis museum

Do you recognise names like Ken Rosewall, Frank Sedgman, John Bromwich, Evonne Goolagong Cawley, Lew Hoad or Margaret Court? Did you know that these incredible players were all either trained by Harry Hopman or managed by Nell Hopman? In the Australian Tennis Museum’s new exhibition “The Hopman Era:

Australia on the Rise” follow Australia’s journey to the top of world tennis through a power couple who had brilliant but often controversial ideas. Find out why the ‘Hopman Era’ was Australia’s golden age of tennis at the Australian Tennis Museum.

Meet tennis legend Ken Rosewall

Learn about Harry Hopman from one of his students. Tennis Legend Ken Rosewall will be in the museum to meet people and sign autographs. Please check in the museum for days and times.

Activities for kids

Become a tennis detective to discover amazing facts about the history of tennis in the ‘Great Museum Tennis Hunt’. Feel what it was like to play tennis with a wooden racquet in our Racquet Challenge Area or compete against your friends in a game of Wii tennis.

The Apia International Sydney 2012 merchandise outlet is located opposite Door L of Ken Rosewall Arena. It sells the perfect souvenir of your time at the event, including Wilson jumbo tennis balls, racquets, T-shirts, caps, and drink bottles.
